Performed by Dragon Voices:
John Kenny, Ian Sankey, Patrick Kenny

This trio of artists perform music on multiple instruments, including: Conch shells, animal horns, Irish bronze age horn, Lochnashade horn and Deskford Carnyx (reconstructed by John Creed), Tintignac Carnyx (reconstructed by Jean Boisserie) and modern trombones.

This will be a fascinating glimpse into ancient musical worlds via brand new music. John Kenny was a sensation at a previous Tryst when he played his carnyx (an ancient bronze-age war horn) at Dumfries House. Joined this time by two colleagues the musical palette is expanded to include more instruments and new compositions. The Tryst is especially pleased to present the world premiere of a new work by John Purser, Gundestrup Rituals, and the whole programme is threaded together with a combination of John Kenny’s music and John Purser’s evocative poetry.
