The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra visits Cumnock for an evening firmly rooted in the town.

Internationally celebrated saxophonist Jess Gillam performs James MacMillan’s vivid Saxophone Concerto, inspired by traditional Scottish dance music and psalm-singing, while euphonium player David Childs joins the orchestra to perform MacMillan’s Where the Lugar meets the Glaisnock, James’s love-letter to the town where he grew up. The programme is completed by Mozart’s ever-fresh Eine kleine Nachtmusik. An evening of contrasts, elemental energy and deep local connection.
