Exactly a year older than The Cumnock Tryst, The Farmers Choir was established for the 75th anniversary of the Scottish Association of Young Farmers Clubs in 2013. What started as a one-off has continued and now the choir performs all over Scotland and the north of England.

The Tryst has taken a special interest in people who do extraordinary things in music. We are particularly interested in giving a platform to local choral groups, especially in our late night Festival Club slot at the Dumfries Arms Hotel. This year we have a truly brilliant initiative – a collection of Scottish farmers, their family and friends who love singing in a choir – and I look forward to welcoming them to our Festival Club.
— Sir James MacMillan

Everyone is welcome at the free Festival Club on Friday and Saturday night with a late bar and special Festival Club menu for supper and snacks.
