Blue Sky Counterpoint

One of many exciting collaborations between The Cumnock Tryst and Drake Music Scotland, Blue Sky Counterpoint was a socially inclusive initiative that works with pupils from Hillside School to nurture a love for composing music. Pupils worked with composers James MacMillan and Matilda Brown from the Tryst, as well as singers from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, to engage with a variety of choral music that inspires their own work, and create a programme of music they composed themselves. At its heart, Blue Sky Counterpoint was a testament to the fact that no disability should ever be a barrier to the joyful process of music making.

Blue Sky Counterpoint was a Genesis Kickstart Fund project, supported by the Genesis Foundation. Blue Sky Counterpoint was also supported by Fieldstead and Company.
