Held in the splendour of Dumfries House our performers include Simon Smith (piano), Maximiliano Martín (clarinet) and the strings of Mr McFall’s Chamber. This is real chamber music happening in the Tapestry Room, the Great Steward’s Entrance Hall and the Great Steward of Scotland’s famous Dining Room. The concert is delivered twice during the afternoon in these beautiful, intimate settings.

The concert includes the World Premiere of a Cumnock Tryst Festival Commission from Gillian Walker, a young composer who worked with us in 2018 on The Chronicles of Cumnock project and whose work will hit an international platform for the first time as part of the Tryst.

Our audiences love coming to Dumfries House on the Sunday of the Tryst for these intimate mini-recitals of chamber music, where they promenade from one beautiful space to another. The solo spotlight will be on two of our resident performers, Simon Smith and Maximiliano Martín, later joined by Mr McFall’s string players. We’re delighted that we are also giving a platform for another Ayrshire composer at the beginning of her career.
